Who tells you what to do?

(A) Lefties, including New Labour (or just Labour) , Lib dems, BNP / Socialism: The 'get in everyone's bloody way party / philosophy'.

(B) Righties, including LPUK, UKIP, Tories (Unless they get seduced by paternalistic oligarchism and homeownerism) / Libertarianism: The 'lets get out of everyone's way party / philosophy'.

Which is likely to not just work better, but to work at all? Do YOU think they know what's best for you? Do YOU always want to be told what to do? No, me neither.

(B) obviously. I'm glad to see you adopt the expression Home-Owner-Ism.

I mean that (B) would work better.

MW I have been aware of homeownerism for a very long time - my Dad was a developer of speculative housing. Surprisingly he was well aware of homeownerism and did not like it all. Consequently his business was always well prepared when housing bubbles went mad. He understood the non profits made by the vast majority of amateur and not a few professional house developers who mistake market price gains for profits.

I learned a lot about homeownersim sitting on his knee as he did cashflows in the margein of the crossword.

In my business, which as you know is retail FS we have been warning all and sundry for years - definitely since Brown got the hands on the Treasury - that it would all end in tears and that they were not making money from their 'investments' unless they cashed out.

(Not a very good response - bit weary tonight).
